What is the Political Courage Test?

Colorado Congressional Election 2024 Political Courage Test

Pro-life Do you generally support pro-choice or pro-life legislation?
Yes Do you support the Supreme Court's decision to overturn Roe v. Wade?
I believe in protecting the life of the unborn. That being said, I do not believe in a federal ban that extends laws above the constitution that rule over all 50 states. Tenth Amendment states that "The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people."
No Do you support expanding federal funding to support social safety net programs such as Social Security and Medicare?
Yes Do you support a decrease in income taxes in order to balance the budget?
No Do you support a wealth tax in order to pay for public programs?
No Do you support the regulation of indirect campaign contributions from corporations, unions, and individuals?
Yes Do you support protecting government officials, including law enforcement officers, from personal liability in civil lawsuits concerning alleged misconduct?
Yes Do you support increasing defense spending?
I support increasing defense spending depending on the state of our current condition of our military equipment and what is going on internationally.
No Do you support federal spending as a means of promoting economic growth (e.g. grants, tax incentives)?
No Do you support the federal government increasing funding for affordable housing programs?
No Do you support the federal government taking action, beyond those of the Federal Reserve, to alleviate inflation?
No Do you support the forgiveness of federal student loan debt?
Yes Do you support requiring a government-issued identification in order to vote at the polls?
No Do you support government funding for the development of renewable energy (e.g. solar, wind, geo-thermal)?
Yes Do you support the federal government allowing permits for drilling on public lands?
No Do you generally support gun-control legislation (e.g. red flag laws, boyfriend loopholes)?
No Do you support a government-run (e.g. single-payer) healthcare program, such as Medicare-for-All?
No Do you support expanding paid family AND/OR medical leave benefits (e.g. maternity leave)?
No Should the government be able to regulate the cost of prescription drugs?
Medical costs need to be transparent from hospitals and big health, and we need to reduce the need for intermediaries such as Pharmacy Benefit Managers to lower costs.
Yes Do you support increasing security along the southern US border?
No Do you support requiring immigrants to return to their country of origin before they are eligible for citizenship, regardless of their immigration status?
I support the idea of immigrants being required to go back to their country of origin prior to approval of citizenship if they have recently come to America illegally, do not qualify for asylum and do not have a court date within the year. However, I do feel that children(Dreamers) who were brought here and have only known the Unites States of America as home should be reviewed under different guidelines. If they have jobs, not receiving government benefits, no criminal history, and are contributing taxes, they should be allowed to stay with a possible pathway for citizenship.
No Do you support economic intervention as a means of resolving international conflicts?
Yes Do you support the US providing increased offensive military aid to Ukraine?
I do not support funding for never ending wars. There needs to be an end game strategy in these wars and if peace is an option. That being said, we do need to make sure we are not being shortsighted as the consequences of Ukraine falling to Russia can open doors to other wars and attacks on NATO countries which would require even larger financial contributions and potentially the involvement of American soldiers. So if we can formulate a plan on how to end this war and have full transparency of financial aid so that it is not being wasted, I would be open to continuing the support to avoid possible long term consequences of new wars that may require American involvement.
No Do you generally support increased regulations on social media companies (e.g. Tik Tok, Facebook, etc.)?
My top priorities would be support of creating a strong economy with a high training jobs bill. It is important that we encourage high paying jobs such as vocation jobs and energy. By doing so, this will help with a robust economy to assist with the cost of living and increased tax revenue from having a strong workforce. I will also focus on legislation of low taxes, and deregulation on housing and energy to stimulate the economy. I would also be sure to put our national deficit and spending as a main focus as this is this a cause of inflation and is unsustainable for our country. Finally, I would concentrate on having a strong immigration policy in place that discourages immigrants from coming to America so that we can reduce the number of immigrants from attempting to come to America.
